  • Act for Peace Ration Challenge

Homebush Boys High School invites you to participate in Act for Peace Ration Challenge, an initiative supported by the school’s Social Justice Club to fundraise for Refugee Week. The Ration Challenge asks students, parents and teachers to eat the same rations as a refugee for a day during Refugee Week (25-29th of June) and get sponsored to do it. By putting yourself in the shoes of a refugee, we'll learn about global issues, develop empathy for others and feel empowered to make a difference in the world. The money raised will support refugees around the world.  This will take place from the 25-29th of June in celebration of Refugee Week.

Students: If you would like to be involved please download the permission note, have your guardians sign and return to Ms Yong in the English Staffroom. Once you have returned your permission note I can set up your own personal fundraising page.
Guardians and Teachers: If you would like to get involved please email This email address is being protected from spambots. • HBHS Water Well in Bangladesh

Last year, Homebush Boys High School hosted a Ramadan Iftar Night. We worked together with our sponsor Human Appeal, which is an organisation that aims to strengthen humanity’s fight against poverty and social injustice, through the provision of immediate relief and establishment of self-sustaining development programs.

We had great support from our teachers, students and community members. Together, we were able to gather a large sum of money which was generously donated. Using that money, Human Appeal has successfully built a water well in Bangladesh in honour of our school name. This is truly an achievement for our school and a success for everyone who donated.

On behalf of our school, I thank Human Appeal, as well as all the staff, students, parents and community members for their support.

As our next Ramadan Iftar Night is upcoming up on the 7th of June, we would like to challenge our school and ourselves to raise more money to achieve greater things this year. We hope to use donations to build more water wells in desperate, underprivileged countries in the world.

  • Pink Ribbon Day 2017

    C.A.N.C.E.R

Who knew a six letter word, so tiny, so insignificant, could change a life so much.

From a single word, tears fall. From a single word, a world crumbles.

From a single word, you are parentless, partnerless, sisterless, brotherless… lifeless.

Cancer is so much bigger than itself.

It grows and grows, grows beyond the physical, emotionally affecting partners, children, families, societies.
