Our students have started 2014 with enthusiasm and dedication.

They have been involved in many interesting programs already including Public Speaking, the National day against bullying campaign, Study Skills, Band Camp, and are continuing their indoor soccer fundraiser.

There are many exciting opportunities coming up in 2014 which we have planned. We look forward to the peer mentoring opportunities that the YWCA and DEC have offered, to develop strong leadership roles within the year.

Thank you to all the staff, parents and students that came to support #jm14 which was held on the 22nd of August in the school hall. It was an energetic night filled with cheers, laughter and most importantly an exhibition of young creative talent.

jm14 (justMEDIA) is an annual digital media exhibition which is held at Homebush Boys High School. It showcases the creative productions of Preliminary and HSC Industrial Technology Multimedia students.

This year marked the debut of justMEDIA which included a strong display of inspirational digital media projects in the categories of film, 2D/3D animation, web design and live musical performances.

For those who could not make it on the night you can now revisit some of the work on our Homebush Boys Multimedia YouTube channel @ http://youtube.com/hbhsmultimedia or alternatively search “m homebush” on YouTube. Enjoy!

The final ceremony for 2014 was held on Thursday 21st August at the Strathfield Town Hall and attended by over 120 new Citizens and their families. The event was officiated by Strathfield Mayor Cr Daniel Bott and attended by State and Federal Members of Parliament.

Homebush Boy's was represented by Year 10 SRC members Adam Yoon, Ananth Kumaralingam and Dominic Yates at this ceremony as our prefects have been sitting their HSC trials over the past few weeks. The SRC lads did a brilliant job and were very courteous and respectful. Well done boys.

Once again Homebush Boys parents donated mouthwatering food and donated money to supply refreshments for the evening. Thank you to all the parents who have donated food or money towards these events. I must make particular mention of those parents who have done this year in and out and your signature culinary expertise is always noted, together with your wonderful monetary donations. You are a special bunch of people and I am most grateful for your continued support of this event as is our school.
