Pink Ribbon Day StaffABOUT 15,000 women across the nation are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.  

Homebush Boys High School continued, on the 31 October, 2014, with its strong donation tradition as part of a Pink Ribbon fund-raiser and cancer awareness day.

Pink Ribbon Day is an annual event run by the Cancer Council which aims to raise funds and awareness about breast and gynaecological cancers.

Individual personnel dressed in pink to support the Pink Ribbon Day initiative and raise funds for breast and gynaecological cancer.  Many shared stories of the need for early detection and support mechanisms that are available.  Whole school personnel also engaged in practices of reflection, remembering loved ones who have lost their battle with cancer.

Excursion to Parliament of NSW by Darren Tan

National Week of Deaf people

On the morning of 23 October, I was going on an excursion with Hong Tan and Mrs Cole. We were lucky that Mrs Cole took the limited spots to participate the event of Parliament of NSW for deaf people. It was a national week of deaf people. We walked to the Homebush Station and took a train to Wynard Station.

After we walked out of Wynard Station and on the way to Parliament of NSW, We went to see a TV show on Channel 7. The show ‘Morning Herald’ was on. We stood outside the door and had a look on the show through a transparent glass. Then we went to a chocolate café/shop, Imagine if you could. On the left side of a chocolate café/shop were shelves of chocolates pack displayed with fruit flavours and small ball shaped chocolates.  On the right side was tables filled with people drinking coffees on tables.  We brought some delicious chocolates to eat. Yummm…
