The school is holding its annual swimming carnival on Friday the 8th of February 2019. We are fortunate to have been able to book the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre at Homebush for our 74th Swimming Carnival. Students will be able to use the most up-to-date equipment and compete in the actual pool that was used by competitors in the 2000 Olympic Games.

All students are expected to attend, either as spectators or participants. Admission to the carnival has been paid out of the voluntary school fees. Students will be marked present before entering the Aquatic Centre based on Houses. Students are encouraged to wear clothing in their house colours or wear their school sports uniform.

Rolls will be marked at 8.40 am just inside the main entrance. When marked present students are to go to their House Areas clearly marked with House Banners. At the end of the carnival, students will be marked off in their House Areas by their Roll Call teachers.

Hayes Rolls: 2,9,14,17,20,25,30,32,38,46,52,69 Red Color
Vaughan Rolls: 3,10,15,26,34,35,40,47,53,70,71 Blue Color
Greening Rolls: 12,16,18,27,36,44,50,54,57,68,72 Green Color
Howe Rolls: 13,19,21,23,29,37,45,46,51,68A,68 Yellow Color

Students are to make their own way to and from the venue. Please see the back of this note for travel information.

All competitors must wear a Swimming cap. When entering into their first event students are to pay $2 at the marshaling area. They will then receive a cap (in their house colours) that they can use for the carnival in 2018 and beyond.

Unfortunately, there is no free time for swimming in the competition pool, and the leisure gardens with its pool, is “OUT OF BOUNDS”. Students who wish to use the leisure gardens, with its pool and water slides at the end of the carnival can do so, but will have to first leave the pool area and then pay the normal admission fee to re-enter the pool. Students doing this will not be supervised by teachers since it is an after school activity.

Drums, horns, radios, etc. are prohibited and will be confiscated since they affect the announcements being made. Students are also advised not to bring valuables and are to ensure that they have someone to look after their possessions when they enter a race. There will be drink/refreshment machines available, but we suggest packed lunches/refreshments, since the food purchased at the complex can be quite expensive.

The Carnival is expected to end at approximately 2.00 pm. Parents are more than welcome to attend the Carnival and a section of the stand has been set aside for their use. A program of events will also be given to each parent.
