Last term, a group of year nine and ten boys participated in the AFL skills program. The program was run by the AFL (Sydney Swans) and supported by Western Suburbs Junior Australian Football Club. The program took place during period four Tuesdays for five weeks on the Western grass.

Over the course of five weeks, we learnt and developed different skills such as kicking, handpassing, marking and evading. We did so using drills, competitions and games, incorporating skills that we had learnt.

The skills we learnt are beneficial, providing us with necessary skills to play AFL for a local club or even in other sports.
