In a commitment to making a positive difference, Homebush Boys High School, has recently established the ‘The Breakfast Club Program’.  This program gives high school students, in areas of greatest need, a filling and healthy breakfast, to get them through the day.  It fuels the body for the rest of the day, ensuring that students can learn to the best of their ability in class.

Adam Yoon & Ben NguyenPerfect running conditions welcomed several of our students, teachers and other Homebush associates to this year’s City to Surf. Beginning at Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD, the young men (some not so young) ran the 14km track to the iconic Bondi Beach.

There was a bit of worry at the start for some as the bag drop off time came and went, leaving some runners with a handful of gear, rather than having it stowed safely in the back of a truck to be transported to Bondi for pick up at the finish. This was soon rectified and the nervous lads waited for the start.

Down William Street, past the Coke sign and over to the coast, 85000 humans made their way to Bondi in an effort to beat their best time or establish a bench mark for later years. At the 6km mark, Heartbreak Hill loomed. For over 1km the crowd climbs up wards before the course flattens out. However, with legs hurting from this major climb, the organisers placed several smaller hills between the runners and the finish.
