Homebush BSH played Killarney Heights HS on Thursday 18m February at Hudson Park.
Captain Lachlan Beattie won the toss and elected to bat on a good wicket. Nikethan and Nivethan Radhahrishnan provided a sound foundation for the innings with an opening partnership of 36, scoring 15 and 12 respectively.
Killarney Heights bowled tightly and fielded well on a hot day making runs hard to come by. Lachlan Beattie was the mainstay of the innings with a well compiled 32. Lachlan was the last batsman dismissed with Todd Dale (14) the only batsman to provide resistance with most Homebush batsmen surrendering their wicket meekly through poor shot selection. Homebush was dismissed for 111 in thirty two overs from a maximum of 40 overs.

The batsmen had placed enormous pressure on the bowlers with the opposition requiring less than three runs per over for victory. Homebush bowlers stuck to their task manfully with opening pair of Lachlan Beattie and Ryan Wu bowling with good pace and economy. At the 20 over mark the game was in the balance with Killarney Heights 2/51 and requiring 61 runs for victory.
Ramesh Thileeprathan 1/19 (6 overs), Sanjit Selverajoo 0/6 (5 overs) and Sree Sista 1/24 (6 overs) bowled very well and put pressure on the opposition. Omar Warisi, mesmerised all batsmen with his left are orthodox spin and returned the excellent figures of 4/18 off eight overs.

Killarney Heights finally won the match by two wickets in the 39th over in a nail biting finish in a match which was played very competitively but in the best of spirit.

This match was worthy of being played as a final, not the first round of the competition.
